French Humorous Menu Postcards

I'm not sure where the need came from for these turn-of-the-century French photographic postcards to exhibit a blank "menu" possibility to the recipient. Maybe it was a dinner invitation, or perhaps it was just a card poking fun at fun. I really don't know--perhaps someone will be able to put one of these to use for their next dinner party?
