Fernand Mourlot, Jaime Sabartes. Picasso - Lithographe I (1919-1947). André Sauret, Éditions du Livre, Monte Carlo 1950. Folio. Limited to 2500 copies (#1372). 154pp. 31.5x24.5cm
Rebound in library cloth. The binding is very sturdy but not very pretty—purely a service binding. There are occasional internal stamps as well as library stamps on the top and bottom (exterior) text block ends. At least half of the color and black+white illustrations/reproductions in the text also have library stamps on them. Other than that the text is fresh and the three original lithographs are in fine condition. $450 (HALF of the proceeds goes to the de-accessioning library.)
There are three original lithographs here. TWO, actually. In the original state there was a front and rear cover which constituted one long print—this is a rebound edition (in cloth) and the cover litho has been cut evenly into to fit the front and rear of this volume. The front litho unfortunately has a library stamp along the very bottom right of the print.
There is also a frontispiece original litho with a glassine spacer. The right margin on this print is very tight.
