Livesley, R.K.. Digital Computers.
Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1957. 1st edition. 54pp Cloth. Very fine condition. Very fine dust jacket. Gorgeous copy of this work, scarce in itself and especially so in the dustjacket; evermore so in this condition. $175
Livesley wrote this lively little introduction to the digital computer in 1957 (originally priced at $1.75, now tow orders of magnitude more expensive!) and although it was targeted to a popular readership it was still a Cambridge publication, which means that it the word "popular" was open to interpretation. Needless to say, the general readership for Cambridge was not terribly popular, and the book winds up being written for at least the college-bound. It was popular enough though top go into a second edition in 1960 (which I've not seen), and expand to 57 pages (from 53).
